Orlando Home & Garden Show March 4-6 Features Celebrity Line-up
Including ‘Flipping Out’ Star Jeff Lewis & Chef Emily Ellyn
ORLANDO, Fla. – Next month’s Orlando Home and Garden Show features several well-known TV and radio personalities, including Jeff Lewis, star of Bravo’s hit TV show “Flipping Out,” Food Network Star Chef Emily Ellyn (the Retro Rad Chef) and Tom MacCubbin, from the syndicated radio show “Better Lawns & Gardens.”
The show, which is coming to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando March 4-6, features notable local home and garden experts, kitchen and bathroom contractors, interior designers, and much more. In addition, local Central Florida companies will exhibit everything from front entrance décor to backyard landscapes.

Jeff Lewis, star of Bravo’s hit TV show “Flipping Out” and a top interior designer
Appearing on Saturday only, Jeff Lewis has earned the title of America’s most well-known house flipper. Lewis has created a brand of properties that are in harmony with and are exemplified by the exterior and interior living spaces. When it comes to renovation, Lewis believes in finding the true integrity of the house, then breathing life back into the space in a way that will connect with a certain type of buyer.
By taking his well-rounded knowledge of more than 20 years of design and renovation, Lewis transitioned his business into Jeff Lewis Design. Within a year of starting the company, Lewis was selected to design House Beautiful Magazine’s 2010 “Kitchen of the Year” showcased in New York City’s Rockefeller Center and launched exclusive product lines the same year.
Jeff will speak at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the Celebrity stage; attendees are invited to learn from his more than 20 years of experience and participate in what will surely be a lively question and answer session.
Chef Emily Ellyn, the Retro Rad Chef
With her quirky persona and trademark cat-eye glasses, this Retro Rad Diva cooks up fun and inspires audiences at food events around the world, all while developing her culinary TV career and finishing her Ph.D. in Food Service Education. Ellyn writes for edible and Cake Central magazines, and lectures at the University of Central Florida (UCF). She’s appeared on Food Network’s “Food Network Star,” “Cupcake Wars,” “Cutthroat Kitchen” and morning news shows across the country, as well as a cameo cartoon appearance on “The Simpsons.”
Ellyn worked in Cleveland’s top restaurants and started her own catering company while still in high school. Upon leaving Ohio, she graduated with a degree in Restaurant Management from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y. There, she worked as a teaching assistant until moving to Paris to attend graduate school at Academie Internationale de Management. Ellyn then went on to earn two master’s degrees in hospitality management; one in Paris and one from UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality and Management.

Gardening Expert Tom MacCubbin
Gardeners in Florida know Tom MacCubbin through his radio, television, and newspaper contributions. A retired extension environmental horticulturist with the University of Florida in Orange County, MacCubbin has degrees in Horticulture from the University of Maryland and advanced training from the University of Florida.
Readers are familiar with his question-and-answer gardening columns and feature articles for The Orlando Sentinel, while others may recognize him as a co-host of “Central Florida Gardening” on cable television and previous weekly horticulture reports on Central Florida News 13. His Saturday radio program “Better Lawns & Gardens” is broadcast over 20 Florida stations.
Home and Garden Show attendees will hear MacCubbin discuss “Spring Gardening My Way,” which will address the right way, the wrong way and his way to have a successful landscape, including tips for good plant care this spring. MacCubbin will appear on the Garden and Wildlife Stage at 3 p.m. Friday, March 4.
Designer Room Display Featuring Tiffany Hakimpour, Founder and Creative Director, Artistic Expression
Tiffany Hakimpour founded Artistic Expression in Orlando in 1992. Artistic Expression provides fine faux finishing, trompe l’oeil finishing, artistic murals, oil painting and interiors. She travels around the country to attend conventions and workshops to keep abreast of the newest art techniques and materials. In 2006, Hakimpour was asked to work on the television program “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” while the show was in production in Central Florida.
Hakimpour, a master faux finisher and decorative artist, will demonstrate how to take your home to the next level with decorative artistic finishes during her presentations on the Celebrity Stage at 12:30 p.m.Saturday, March 5 and noon Sunday, March 6.
