Crockpot Cabbage Rolls #SundaySupper

Somehow I always end up with extra cabbage whenever I am making something. This time I was making egg rolls and had almost an entire head leftover. My county grows a lot of cabbage and we tend to eat it often certain times of the year. We also have grown cabbage for the fair.

For this recipe I had a few pounds of venison given to me and wanted to use that up. I personally don’t like venison but my family does. You can use any type of ground meat. They are really yummy and healthy with ground turkey! I love to use my crockpot or slow cooker whatever you want to call it. I use it more often in the cooler months than the summer but I do use it year round.
Crockpot Cabbage Rolls Recipe:

Ingredients:

6 cups cooked rice ( I used brown rice)
2 pounds ground (browned and drained) (I used venison you can use any kind)
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 can tomato soup
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
2 cloves garlic minced
1 medium onion finely chopped
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 large head of cabbage
Directions:
In a bowl combine the diced tomatoes, tomato soup and tomato paste. Stir in garlic, onion, and all the seasonings. Once it’s combined scoop out and reserve about 3 cups of the tomato mixture.
Break off leaves from the head of cabbage and scoop about ½ a cup into the leaf.
