Water Bombs
Summer is coming! We live in Florida and spend a lot of time in the water. I wish I had a pool but we do not. I do live very close to a community pool though. We purchase membership there every summer.
Our Girl Scout troop is having a luau pool party this year with our cookie money. We are making these water bombs to play with. They are simple enough for the kids to make. Just make sure they tie the dental floss really tight!
What you need
3 kitchen sponges
Dental Floss
Scissors
Take the 3 sponges and cut them in half long ways. Like this:
![cut in half](https://i0.wp.com/myworldsimplified.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Step-1-waterbomb1.jpg?resize=300%2C225)
Now cut those in half again like so:
![cut each 1/2 into 1/4's now. I call the 1/4's french fries](https://i0.wp.com/myworldsimplified.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Step-2-waterbomb.jpg?resize=300%2C225)
Now you should have something that looks like this:
![all cut](https://i0.wp.com/myworldsimplified.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/step-3-waterbomb.jpg?resize=300%2C225)
Now group them in a pattern you like:

Now this part takes 2 people. One to hold them and one to tie the knot. Grab the cut sponges and twist the center like so:

Now use the dental floss to tie a nice tight knot. I knotted it like 3 times.
![tie it really TIGHT](https://i0.wp.com/myworldsimplified.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/step-6-waterbomb.jpg?resize=225%2C300)
Now let loose and lightly fluff the ball

Now it’s ready for playing in the water. Take them to the pool, play in the sprinkler, or just the hose. My kids actually took them out in the rain.
