Turkey Stock Recipe
Turkey Stock is the second best thing about Thanksgiving, of course stuffing is first! I use this to make turkey noodle soup, turkey and dumplings, and much more. I love to be able to get something from the bones of the turkey.
Turkey Stock Recipe
Ingredients:
1 turkey carcass (bones from the turkey with the meat removed)
3 large carrots (end trimmed)
3 stalks of celery (ends trimmed)
1 large onion quartered
2 peeled whole cloves garlic
2 bay leaves (optional)
water
Directions:
In a large stock pot place all the ingredients. Cover with water and place on high heat.
Bring to a boil. Once boiling reduce heat and simmer for an hour. Skim off the brownish foam that forms as it cooks.
Remove the bones and big pieces. Strain the remaining stock. Use or store in the fridge or freezer. I place mine in old large ice cream buckets and freeze them.
