MiDiCi Daytona, Arrive Hungry Even Vegan & Gluten Free Friends

MiDiCi Daytona, Arrive Hungry

(Even Vegan & Gluten Free People)

This week I had the pleasure of indulging myself at MiDiCi in Daytona Beach.  Before I even entered the building I was already picturing myself bringing my family there to eat. MiDiCi is located at One Daytona and the epicenter is the perfect location for date night or family fun day. The ingredients available seem almost endless. Even my friends that are Vegan and Gluten free diets can come in starving and leave STUFFED!

Upon entering you know your going to eat well with the open kitchen and ingredients out on display. Also how can you go wrong when there are giant jars of Nutella on the wall!  I loved the seating, not to crowded but close enough that you can carry on a conversation with your neighbor if you desire. (Which I do) When I go to a restaurant I love to have them suggest food. This time I had Dustin choose all our food.  He was so excited to show off the MiDiCi he works for.

The appetizer he choose was a Burrata Caprese. If you haven’t had Burrata its amazing. A ball of what looks like fresh mozzarella. The outside layer is just that. Once you get to the center its a different texture all together. It’s creamy and almost runny; yet tastes like mozzarella. I also tried the Burrata with Melon & Prosciutto. Both are exceptional.

The main courses at MiDiCi aren’t just pizza and calzones. Dustin served my friend Heather and I Spaghetti & Meatballs and Macaroni & 3 Cheese.  The meatballs were some of the most tender I have ever tasted. Heather exclaimed,  “Best Macaroni and cheese I have had”.

Then I heard Dustin utter one of my favorite words “Tiramisu”. MiDiCi has an impeccable tiramisu with a precise balance of flavors. I also tried the famous Nutella calzone which was also sublime. The desserts are HUGE, they easy feed 2 people.

If you love the remarkable ingredients as much as I did you can take some of it home. They sell their cold pressed olive oil, oregano and more!

My biggest suggestion is to arrive hungry and with plenty of time. You will want to take your time and savor every bite. Who knows you may finish your meal and feel like playing a game of corn hole in the common area of One Daytona.  Two thumbs way up to MiDiCi for a unique Italian dining experience!
