My Favorite 4th of July Menu

Four Recipes That Have Become Part of Our Family’s Traditions

My Simplified Kitchen Weekend Recipe Series featuring Amy's favorite 4th of July menu with grilled chicken kabobs, Amish broccoli cauliflower salad, red white and berries dessert, and berry spritzer.

There are some recipes that become more than just something you make—they become part of your family’s story.

For our family, the Fourth of July has always been about gathering together, firing up the grill, watching the kids run through the yard, and slowing down long enough to enjoy each other’s company. While the years have brought new faces around our table and plenty of changes, these four recipes have remained constant.

Before My World Simplified became a digital marketing company, it was a food and family blog. One of my favorite things was sharing recipes and the stories behind them. It only seemed right to bring that tradition back with My Simplified Kitchen.

This week’s Weekend Recipe Series is straight from Amy’s Recipe Box and features the dishes that have become staples at our Fourth of July celebrations. I hope they find a place at your family’s table too.

Spicy Pineapple Chicken Kabobs

Nothing says summer quite like cooking outside. These kabobs combine juicy chicken, sweet pineapple, colorful peppers, and just the right amount of spice. They’re one of those recipes that disappears almost as quickly as they come off the grill.
