Cucumber and Mint Margarita Recipe

I created this Cucumber and Mint Margarita recipe after my trip to Los Angels last year for Vanity Fair Social Club at the Oscars. While there we visited Kay N Dave’s Catina in Culver City. If your ever in the area stop in and have a cucumber and mint margarita along with a squash flower relleno. I also recommend the Beast and stopping back in for brunch.

Obliviously I really like Kay N Dave’s (we ate there 3 times) but I cannot afford to go to LA every I crave a good margarita. I knew that they didn’t skimp and they fresh squeezed their limes. So I went off on a margarita tasting adventure. I haven’t found anyone that serves a cucumber and mint margarita anywhere! It’s so refreshing and a perfect balance to the tartness of the lime and tang of the tequilas. The pictures below are pictures of Kay N Dave’s delicious food I ate and drank!

I then started experimenting with the cucumber and mint margaritas at home. First I had to creat the perfect margarita mix. So I did, or at least I think so! I also decided to create the recipe as a single or pitcher so you can share with friends or just come home and enjoy one after that tedious long day! To have a regular margarita just leave out the mint and cucumber. Again the directions are for a pitcher of margaritas or to make just one margarita. And below starts the pictures of my Cucumber and Mint Margaritas!

Pitcher of Cucumber and Mint Margarita Recipe

Ingredients:

2 cups fresh squeezed lime juice (about 10 limes)
1 cup agave syrup (lighter colored one)
1 cup orange liqueur (I used Patron brand)
1/4 cup silver tequila (I again I used Patron
1/2 organic cucumber chopped
12 large mint leaves chiffanade

Directions:

Pour all ingredients together in a pitcher and stir to combine. Fill with ice and serve in margarita glasses if you have them, ENJOY!

Single Cucumber and Mint Margarita Recipe

Ingredients:

1 heaping tablespoon organic cucumber chopped
2 mint leaves torn in half
1/3 cup ice
1/2 ounce tequila
1 ounce orange liqueur
1/2 lime, juiced
1 ounce agave syrup (the light colored one)

Directions:

Mash the cucumber and mint leaves, add the ice. Pour the tequila and orange liqueur. Stir. Now add the lime juice and agave. Stir, serve, and Enjoy!

I had a cucumber-mint margarita last week while in Mexico exploring somewhere in the middle of the Yucatán peninsula. (On a tour exploring a cenote, or underground water hole). The margarita was amazing, and I hope this is similar! The main difference I see is that in Mexico all ingredients were put in a blender and puréed before adding the liquor. Can’t wait to try this recipe.

You could blend it all with ice for the frozen version. I like mine on the rocks! Tag me on social media when you make it #myworldsimplified
