Crockpot Ribs

Crockpot Ribs

I love ribs anytime of the year. Its hard though as my husband usually works overtime and doesn’t have the time to cook them on the grill very often. I also don’t like to par-boil my food. Low cooking them in the oven would work, but the oven hot in the summer is no fun. So I came up with these. They are VERY tender. The rib meat falls off the bone!  You could throw in some liquid smoke and have it really taste like it was done on the grill.

Crock-pot Ribs Recipe:

Ingredients:

1/4 cup BBQ sauce
1/2 cup water
1 slab of pork ribs cut into individual ribs
extra BBQ sauce to slather with

Directions:

In a skillet over medium high heat brown the ribs on at least 2 sides. This actually helps to hold the meat together.  Mix the sauce and water together in the crockpot. Put ribs in and move around to coat them all. Cook on low for 5-6 hours. Do not remove the lid, just let it cook.

This part is optional its just for a good thick glazed bbq rib. If you don’t want the thick glaze then enjoy them when you remove them from the crockpot. Preheat the oven to 400. Remove ribs from crockpot and place on sheetpan. Rub down the ribs with some extra sauce. Place in the oven for 15-20 minutes on each side. I rubbed more sauce on when I flipped them.
