Peach Melba Smoothie

Peach Melba Smoothie Recipe

As many of my followers on Facebook know I tend to share recipes to “celebrate” silly food holidays. National Peach Melba day is on January 13th so I got to work creating some new twists to the classic ice cream treat. For those that don’t know Peach Melba is poached peaches served with a mound of vanilla ice-cream which is then drizzled with raspberry sauce. Sounds pretty good to me! Well I decided to marry flavors into a smoothie.

My Peach Melba Smoothie has the flavors of peach, vanilla and raspberries. Its a healthy alternative to the traditional peach melba and its still a cold treat will satisfy the cold sweet tooth. You can omit the sugar but one of my daughters insisted that it was put in there 🙂  Make sure you use frozen fruit so you can omit  ice cubes and the watered down flavor in your smoothie.  I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.  *Makes 4 (16 ounce) smoothies

Peach Melba Smoothie-2
Peach Melba Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

3 cups frozen peach slices (I sliced 3 fresh peaches and froze them)
1 1/2 cups frozen raspberries
2 cups plain vanilla yogurt
3 tablespoons sugar (optional)
about 2 cups peach nectar or juice

Directions:

In a blender (I have a Ninja and love it) mix the peaches, raspberries, yogurt, sugar and about half of the juice. Blend on high, slowly adding more juice until you reach the desired consistency. Serve and Enjoy! *Makes 4 (16 ounce) smoothies
