Black Forest Cake ingredients

Easy Black Forest Cake

My 10 year old daughter wanted to make dessert for the family. I didn’t feel like running to the store. So we found these ingredients in the house and she made Black Forest Cake. Its a kid made, kid approved dessert. This was her first time making a cake without mom hovering over her.

She followed the directions on a package of a devils food chocolate cake mix. My daughter baked her cake in a 9×13 pan for the directed time. She then let it cool.

Once it was cooled completely. She topped the cake with cherry pie filling spreading it all the way to the edge. Next up is the cool whip. This got spread on like frosting.

We served the cake up for dessert and everyone was impressed that Margaret a 10 year old made all by herself. She was so excited that everyone loved it so much.
