Easy Grilled Pineapple
Its pineapple season here in Florida! We usually end up purchasing a few each week. We have found also that we LOVE grilled pineapple! Its amazing. The grill marks make it look great and they bring out the sugars and caramelize a little. If you haven’t tried it yet you should! Its really quite simple to make. I did mine on a gas grill but you could use the same directions for charcoal. Just watch those flames! Also directions on how to easily cut a pineapple.
Grilled Pineapple
Ingredients:
1 pineapple
2 tablespoons olive oil
Directions:
Start by prepping your pineapple. Cut off the ends. (You can plant the top end in soil and it will eventually grow roots and into a pineapple plant). With the ends cut off you can now trim the “skin”. Trim from one end to the other.
After you have the skin trimmed off you can slice the pineapple into about 1/2 inch thick slices.
Now using a knife or a small scoop remove the core. Thats it! You now have beautiful slices of fresh pineapple.
Fire up your grill. Lightly brush each slice with the olive oil. Place the oiled side down on a hot grill, now brush the side that is up with oil. Cook for about 3-5 minutes and then flip. Cook the other side for about the same time.
