Salisbury Steak
Throwback Thursday Salisbury Steak! Growing up with a mom that worked nights, left us girls with a tired dad, which in turn meant lots instant meals! Mom took me grocery shopping with her a lot. I could remember her list, lol. I went because I could pick my T.V. dinner and pop for the week.
I would stand in front of the freezer door, staring at all the choices (I already knew them all, but had to anyway). I rarely choose anything but the Salisbury steak. So as an adult I got me one of those T.V. dinners. YUCK! It was so full of sodium I felt like I was lost in the Sahara Dessert after the first two bites.
So I did what I always do! I recreated that Salisbury steak in my own kitchen. Mine comes out thicker than the freezer one.

3 heaping tablespoons ketchup
2 heaping tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Shape into patties. Place a skillet on high with a dash of oil in it.
Brown patties on both sides.
After browning is done, set the patties aside. In a deep pan, or a pot, add water, mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire, and beef base. Heat on Medium high until its hot and about to boil. Add steaks and cover for about 10 minutes. Remove the steaks again.
In the skillet you made the patties cook the onions and remove.
