Red White and Berry Trifle
Red White and Berry Trifle is a great dessert that takes minutes to make. Looks great and tastes even better; take it to any 4th of July party! Its also perfect to take to a Memorial Day Picnic. Celebrate with a dessert that shows your love of America. This is light and perfect for any summer day. Strawberry’s and blueberries give the angel food cake an amazing flavor! Top with some fresh whipped cream and you have something yummy, low calorie, and even patriotic! I have even served this in individual cups for aeasy serving and a stunning presentation.
Ingredients:
2 pounds of strawberries sliced
1 pint blueberries
1/4 cup sugar
1 angel food cake cubed
16 ounces whipped cream
Directions:
Place the berries (strawberry and blueberries) in a bowl and stir in sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes so the juices can develop. Put some of the angel food cake in a pan like below:
Place the berries in between the layers of cake. Next place another layer of each but this time put the berries on the cake and the cake on the berries
Top with dollops of whipped cream on the cake and serve. You can chill this and eat later too.
