Kale Chips

Kale Chips

These are a hit in my household. Full of nutrients and yummy. I have a food dehydrator

That I love. I have had it for about 7 years now. It works great!

I have also made the kale chips in the oven and the come out good too; although I did slightly burn them once. There is also a cheaper option for the dehydrator to purchase Nesco American Harvest FD-37 400 Watt Food Dehydrator

I am sure there are other models that work great but I just know this brand and trust it.

So here is the recipe:
2 bunches of kale
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ tsp galic powder
½ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp season salt
¼ tsp pepper
I rip the stem off the kale leaves. This week at farmers market I was able to get purple Russian kale. To get the kids to eat it better have them “scrub in” as I say in my house (wash up). Then let them mix the ingredients with their hands in a large bowl.

oiled and seasoned

I first pour over the oil and stir that in then, I add the seasonings and stir those in with my hands too! Hands work best, less dishes. Place in dehydrator on 135 degrees for about 2 hours. Or in oven at 300 for 35 minutes, checking often. Remove and enjoy!
