Grandma’s Shepherd’s Pie

Who doesn’t love Grandma’s shepherd’s pie. Brings back memories. I love to eat food and reminisce about being a kid. Those perfect years when money doesn’t matter and riding your bike as fast as you can does! This is an easy meal to make up for your family. Shepherds pie is ground beef with a slight tomato sauce stirred together with some yummy mixed vegetables and topped with mashed potatoes.

Recipe for Grandma’s Shepherds Pie:

Ingredients:
1-1½ pounds of ground beef
1 onion chopped
1 (16 ounce package) mixed veggies
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tablespoons flour
½ tsp ground bay leaves (optional)
½ cup water
4 cups Mashed potatoes

Directions:
Preheat oven to 425
Brown beef and onion on medium high heat in a Dutch oven, once cooked drain any grease. Mix in tomato paste, salt, pepper, garlic powder, bay leaves, flour, and water with the beef. Cook on medium high for 2 minutes.
Remove and put the mixture into a 9×13 baking dish. Top with mashed potatoes and bake for 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are lightly golden
