Molasses Cookies

 Molasses Cookie

Molasses cookies make me think of my Great Uncle Hubert. He used to make them up and they were delicious. He always bragged about his famous recipe. This is not that recipe, but it is a good one, just as worthy of bragging rights.
Molasses Cookies Recipe:

Ingredients:

1 cup butter softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup molasses
2 ½ cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon cloves
½ teaspoon ginger
About 1/3 cup Colored sugar
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375.Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar and butter until creamy. Add the egg and combine well. Stir in the molasses until thoroughly mixed. Now add the flour mixture slowly until it’s all combined.
Roll into 1 inch balls and roll the ball in the colored sugar. Place on a baking sheet with room in between each cookie. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool and enjoy!
